The ZTE Nubia is the slimmest phone ZTE even made, but is its camera any good? In this article we’ll take a close look at the ZTE Nubia camera specs.

The ZTE Nubia Prague rear-facing camera uses an ISCOCELL sensor. This technology was invented by Samsung, and the Samsung Galaxy S5 was the first to use it. This new sensor technology was designed to deliver better image quality. In ISOCELL sensors, each pixel has a physical barrier that allows each pixel to absorb more photons and also reduce crosstalk by around 30 percent compared to regular BSI sensors. So the ISOCELL was designed to both improve image quality and low-light performance. From what I’ve read, this technology also allowed building thinner sensors, which is probably why ZTE has chosen this sensor for its Nubia My Prague phone, it’s only 5.5 mm thick!
I’ve looked at different websites that did some comparison testing but most of them reported a very small marginal difference compared to non-ISOCELL sensors when shooting in daylight, but better performance when shooting in low light scenarios. You can check androidauthority.com, it has a good comparison article. The image quality looks really impressive, at least from a few ZTE Numbia My Prague sample images I’ve seen on the web. You can check gsminsider.com, it has a few samples there. I’ve inspect the sample images, and there is noise in the lowest ISO sensitivity mainly in the shadow areas, but that’s expected from such high resolution sensor that has relatively very small pixels.
So overall it seems like an excellent camera considering the phone’s very slim profile (5.5mm). There is less information available about the 8MP, so all I found out is that it’s 8MP. I’ll post more information when available.
