Olympus has revealed the UK and US pricing of the Olympus E-PL3 Micro Four Thirds digital camera. The E-PL3 suggested retail price stands on $699.00 in the US and £549.99 in the UK. The price is for the Camera + KIT lens pack, which comes with either the 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens or the Zuiko 17mm f/2.8 Pancake lens.
Olympus PEN E-PL3 will compete against other mirrorless cameras, including the Panasonic Lumix GF3 ($699.00 on Amazon + 14mm F2.5 lens) and Sony NEX-C3 ($599.99 on Amazon + 16mm F2.8 lens). Of course that in terms of pricing, the E-PL3 is a direct competitor to the GF3. Both mid-range Micro Four Thirds cameras that will be popular among advanced hobbyist photographers.
