The Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime is an entry-level phone and an upgraded version of the Redmi 2 phone which was announced on January 4 2015.. It has a Sharp/AUO 4.7-inch HD IPS LCD display. The Redmi 2 prime is also Xiaomi’s first phone made in India.

The Xiaomi camera specs are pretty decent for an entry-level smartphone. I’ve checked the sample images on mi.com, but after examining the EXIF I saw that it was downsampled using Adobe Photoshop CC, so I can’t judge the image quality based on that. The Redmi 2 link on mi.com leads to the same Redmi 2 phone product page, so that leads me to assume that other than more RAM And more built-in storage they are the same phones.
The image quality of the original Redmi 2 were very sharp and with very natural color reproduction, unlike some other cameras where the image is over-saturated in some degree. Overall a very good quality camera for the price. It sells in India for Rs. 6,999, equivalent to ~$110 USD.
Check this sample video taken with the original Redmi 2 camera in full HD 30fps. We can expect the Redmi 2 Prime to show the same video quality results
